From November 27 - December 1, 2017, IFES will conduct an innovative workshop on electoral technologies, using BRIDGE curriculum. The workshop will cover various aspects of electoral technologies, including its historical development and types, result management system computerization, etc. Objectives of this workshop is to describe technologies that are currently being used for electoral processes, to present guidelines for the evaluation, choice and implementation of new technologies, to set a framework for policy makers, electoral officials and electoral stakeholders to decide on the appropriate level of technology, to provide examples of so-called best practices in the use of technology as well as examples where technology has not lived up to expectations, to examine some of the emerging technologies and trends to identify those that may apply to elections in the near future, to explore a sound management approach in introducing new technologies.
