CIVIC AND VOTER INFORMATION (CVI) BRIDGE WORKSHOP IN HARARE

The Zimbabwe Election Support Network conducted the first of the three day Civic and Voter Information BRIDGE workshop from 23-25 October 2017, with 36 participants (drawn from different civic society organizations.

Funded by DAI under the Transparency, Responsiveness, Accountability and Civic Engagement Democratic (TRACE) and International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) the objective of the course was to prepare Zimbabwe CSOs to design key messages towards education and mobilisation for the ongoing Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) exercise being conducted by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission for the first time in the country. BVR exercise commenced in mid-October and will end on 19 December 2017.

 The workshop was conducted by a well-balanced team of three facilitators (2 females and 1 male), namely Rindai Chipfunde Vava (Zimbabwe) as the Lead Facilitator, Sibongile Zimemo (South Africa) as Co-Facilitator, and Harris Potani (Malawi).

The facilitators exhibited a good combination of professional experience and diverse background and expertise and provided a conducive environment for learning. In addition the facilitators established a good professional relationship with the participants throughout the duration of the workshop. This was remarked by participants who in the end of course evaluation expressed words of appreciation on the way facilitators worked with them and also on the way they delivered the course content.
