From December 5-12 the Pacific Islands, Australia and New Zealand Electoral Administrators (PIANZEA) network, with funding from AusAID through the Pacific Governance Support Program (PGSP), conducted two BRIDGE Modules in Auckland New Zealand.
The first module, Electoral Observers was run from December 5-7 with the second, Election Disputes Resolution, being conducted from December 10-12.
The workshops saw 13 participants from various electoral management bodies around the Pacific converge in Auckland to share their experiences and to learn more in the areas of Election Observers and Election Disputes.
This workshop saw history being made by the PIANZEA network with the workshop being fully facilitated by PIANZEA members without the assistance of an AEC facilitator. Thanks and Congratulations go to Ms Helena Catt from the New Zealand Electoral Commission and Mr Francis Iro and Ms Christina Mitini from the Solomon Islands, for a job very well done in the facilitation of these BRIDGE Modules.
It wasn’t all work for the participants however with the weekend in between been given as free time, many took the opportunity to explore Auckland and it’s surrounds by bus, ferry and train.
