BRIDGE Manual: Armenian Translations

7 February 2007

BRIDGE (Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections) is the most comprehensive professional development course available in election administration. It improves the skills, knowledge, and confidence both of election professionals and of key stakeholders in the electoral process, such as members of the media, political parties, and electoral observers. To date, it has been conducted in 14 countries for 1500 people.

Using comparative examples, the Armenia BRIDGE Manual seeks to build the capacity and enhance the professionalism of those involved in election administration. It looks at guiding principles of election administration such as impartiality, accuracy and transparency.

In January-March 2007 International IDEA Office in Armenia received a considerable number of positive feedback to BRIDGE Armenia Manual from various national and international institutions, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, CEC Armenia, the Russian-Armenian State Slavonic University, UNESCO Chair in Armenia, National Library of Armenia, Counterpart International and others.

Feedback:

Dear Armineh,

Minister Oskanian would like to thank you for including him in the distribution of the BRIDGE material that you have produced. He finds them well developed and potentially very effective. He is assuming that you have been able to distribute them to schools and that they will be utilized, especially this important year.

Again, good work!

Sincerely,
Salpi H. Ghazarian
