UNDP LAS Gender & Elections workshop – Cairo, Egypt

The League of Arab States and the UNDP Regional Hub will conduct a 5-day BRIDGE workshop on “Gender and Elections”. The workshop targets 19 LAS Observers and UNDP staff. The purpose of the workshop is to increase knowledge regarding women’s role in the different phases of the Electoral process and the challenges they face during elections. It also aims to raise awareness about the importance of women’s participation in elections, as well as to develop strategies to enhance their presence in political life. The workshop will also tackle the issue of Electoral Observation from a Gender perspective.

What are the other challenges or risks tfor the event?
Some of the participants have previously attended the "Introduction to Electoral Administration" Workshop. They might already have info about the content of some of the first and second day sessions. they are also aware about many of the BRIDGE activities and techniques. which represents a challenge to the facilitators and requires them to be more creative.
