Three ‘Building Resources In Democracy, Governance and Elections (BRIDGE)’ workshops for NEC staff took place between the ninth and the eighteen of December 2019 at the Millennium Guest House and Suites in Monrovia, Liberia.
The training aims at building the capacity of the selected NEC staff in election administration and operations through sharing knowledge on emerging best practices from Election Management Bodies globally.
This BRIDGE training is comprised of 3 three-days’ workshops targeting three different categories of NEC staff. The first training was held from 9 – 11 December, 2019 and focused on ‘Introduction to Elections Administration’. This training targeted NEC’s new staff.
The second workshop took place from 12 – 14 December 2019; it covered ‘Voter registration’ and was attended by managerial staff including Deputy Executive Directors as well as heads of departments (Directors). The third training was held between 16 – 18 December 2019 and focused on ‘Election Logistics’ and was attended by the NEC Logistics Officers.
All BRIDGE workshops were facilitated by an International BRIDGE Accrediting facilitator Mr. Ossama Kamel from France and four national facilitators including Mr. James Wallace, NEC’s Training Officer, the UNDP National Programme Officer Mr. Roosevelt Zayzay, NEC’s Training Director Ms. Mien- Apeh Domah and NEC’s Assistant Rivercess County Magistrate Mr. Isaac Williams.
