Tunisian Civic Education

ERIS organized 2 BRIDGE Civic Education workshops for the Members of the Ministry of Education in Tunisia, Hammamet from the 12 to 16 December 2012.To address the needs for promoting civic education in Tunisia, ERIS in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education conducted 2 BRIDGE Civic Education workshops for the Members of the Ministry of Education in Tunisia. 

A series of training sessions targeting teachers and students  will launch the first national day for youth civic engagement in all high schools in order to create awareness on the mechanism of the electoral process and promote the participation of students in the coming elections. This pilot project is financing by the British Embassy in Tunisia and the Arab Partnership Fund.
 
The 2 workshops were conducted in Hamamet in Tunisia from the 12th to the 16th of December. The 2 workshops were facilitated by two international and Arab speakers accrediting facilitators (Samia Mahgoub and Sawsan El Tawil) and two Tunisian BRIDGE facilitators (Islem Oumrani and Afef Mbarek).

Evaluation of the training took place on a daily bases as well as at the end of the course, 98% of the participants indicated that the course has improved their competence in Civic Education.
